Dr. phil. Jochen Vollmann)&#13;\ninvites applications for Visiting Fellowships in Medical Ethics<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<hr\/>\r\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PLEASE NOTE:\u00a0DUE TO THE CURRENT WAR IN UKRAINE, THE INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL ETHICS AND HISTORY OF MEDICINE WANTS TO HELP. WE ARE OPENING THE APPLICATION PROCESS FOR COLLEAGUES AND RESEARCHERS FROM THE UKRAINE AND NEIGHBOURING COUNTRIES. INDIVIDUAL AGREEMENTS ON THE TERMS AND DETAILS OF THE FELLOWSHIP WILL BE POSSIBLE ON SHORT NOTICE.<\/h3>\n\n<hr\/>\r\n\n<p>The fellowships are awarded to doctoral or post-doctoral researchers under the Institute\u2019s established International Visiting Fellowship Programme in Medical Ethics. In accordance with the Ruhr-Universit\u00e4t\u2019s internationalisation strategy, the programme is intended to promote international presence and collaboration in our Institute. As one of the country\u2019s leading groups in the interdisciplinary field of medical ethics, we offer a dynamic research environment. Our research covers a broad range of topics and methods, including projects with philosophical as well as empirical social-scientific approaches. We frequently cooperate with national and international partners. The working languages in our Institute are German and English<\/p>\n\n<p>The fellows will be given intensive research support and office facilities in the Institute. The University\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.international.ruhr-uni-bochum.de\/intoff\/index.html.en\">International Office<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.international.rub.de\/welcomecentre\/index.html.en\">Welcome Centre<\/a>\u00a0provide support and advice prior to and during the stay in Bochum. The duration of the fellowships is up to 2 months (slots: April \u2013 July or October \u2013 November). Fellows receive a monthly stipend of 1.200 EUR to cover their living expenses in Germany. Fellowships do not provide medical insurance or other social benefits. Social security or tax-payments are not deducted from the stipend.<\/p>\n\n<p>We are looking for talented and dedicated scholars with strong intellectual abilities, an interest in interdisciplinary research, flexibility, team-working skills, and a very good command of the English language. Candidates should have successfully completed a doctoral degree in medicine, philosophy, social sciences, psychology, or another relevant discipline with experience in the field of medical ethics. Besides conducting their research project, the visiting fellows contribute to the Institute\u2019s research colloquium, lunchtime seminar, workshops and other academic activities.
